Glacier snowmobiling
Take an exhilarating snowmobile ride on Langjokull, Iceland’s second-largest glacier!
• A guided horse ride where you can experience riding the beautiful Icelandic horse
• Beautiful views the Icelandic countryside
On this tour we offer the best riding routes available depending on the weather and wind. You will ride in the scenic surroundings around the town of Hveragerdi which is surrounded by the river Varma, a lava field and meadows.
The riding time is 1.5-2 hours but with the transfer from Reykjavik, it takes 5 hours.
The Icelandic horse arrived with the first settlers from Scandinavia in the 9th century and has played a vital role in Icelandic history and culture for centuries. This horse breed can master five gaits rather than just the usual three and is best known for the tölt, a special gait which is very smooth and comfortable for the rider. Its lively temperament and friendly personality are amazing, and it is incredibly strong and sure-footed, allowing even beginners to feel safe and experience the soft tölt.
Preparation
• Sturdy shoes, good sneakers or hiking boots that are not very broad are fine.
• Comfortable pants (riding pants are not necessary).
• Gloves and a thin hat under the helmet (“buff” is well suited).
If you would like to bring small items such as a camera you should bring a small waist bag, backpacks cannot be taken on horseback.
On rainy days and on day tours during the winter season, we recommend bringing extra clothing such as socks, gloves and hat in case you get wet during the ride.
