    More about the Tour

We start the tour by driving to the breathtaking Raudasandur beach, which is the highlight of this tour.

Raudasandur is one of the most unique beaches in Iceland and gets its colour from pulverised scallop shells.
The 10 kms of orange-pink sands are most spectacular at low tide contrasting sharply with the dark mountain cliffs and blue ocean.
On a clear day it is possible to view the Snaefellsjokull glacier towering on the horizon.

Raudasandur is home to a secluded seal colony, and if you are interested, it is possible to take a guided tour to see them.

On the way back, we can stop at the rusty Gardar ship on the beach. Once used for whaling and herring fishing, it is the oldest steel ship in Iceland and was abandoned in 1981.

*Please note that private tour bookings are classed as requests until availability can be confirmed by our staff. Prices shown are flexible and you may be offered different prices, subject to availability.
