More about the Tour

The south coast makes for a fairly long day trip with a variety of famous sights: stunning waterfalls, black sand beaches, geological formations and views of famous glaciers and volcanoes along the way.
Please note that this is a 10-hour tour, primarily suitable for ships docking overnight.

We start the tour by driving east along the south coast to the gorgeous waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss.

Originating from a river streaming from the famous Eyjafjallajokull glacier volcano, Seljalandsfoss is unique in that you can walk behind it.

The contrast of the pure white drape-like Skogafoss falling onto black stones, frequent casting rainbows, is a stunning sight.

Further along, we take a detour to get a closer look of Solheimajokull, an outlet glacier of Myrdalsjokull ice cap, which covers the famous Katla volcano.

We continue to Dyrholaey, a spectacular arched cliff with a photogenic lighthouse and gorgeous black-sand beaches. It is one of the most likely places to see puffins along the South Coast (in summer).

Just before Vik is Reynisfjara beach, famous for its black volcanic sands, geometric basalt columns and caves, and the towering Reynisdrangar sea stacks jutting out of the ocean.
