Godafoss, Whales & GeoSea

Your tour starts with a short drive to the Godafoss waterfall. Nicknamed “Beauty” (with Dettifoss being the “Beast”), Godafoss is indeed one of the prettiest waterfalls in Iceland. Its name means “waterfall of the gods” as it is believed that idols of the old Gods were thrown into it when Iceland embraced Christianity in 1000 A.D.

We continue north to the fishing town of Husavik, which is reputed for being the whale watching capital of Iceland.
At the edge of the Skjalfandi Bay, the charming town has colourful houses, great a unique church and fantastic ocean views.

You have a 3-hour tour from the quaint Husavik harbour to get up close and personal with the gentle giants. The chances of seeing them are excellent at 99%. A comfortable boat specially designed for wildlife viewing, trained guides to provide insight and answer your questions, and the scenic ocean views add to the fantastic experience.

Our last stop is the GeoSea Baths, where you can spend an hour relaxing in the geothermal waters with breathtaking views of the Arctic Ocean.

Time permitting, it may be possible to visit the Husavik Whale Museum, one of the few museums in the world solely dedicated to whales, where you can also see a life-size blue whale skeleton.
