Myvatn, Godafoss & Nature Baths

Join us for a scenic day trip through some of the North’s most unique and beautiful landscapes. We start by driving along the peaceful Eyjafjörður coastline, one of Iceland’s longest fjords, with a stop at Goðafoss—one of the country’s most impressive waterfalls.

From there, we head to Lake Mývatn, a volcanic lake formed over 2,000 years ago. The surrounding area is known for its lava fields, unique rock formations, and geothermal features that make this region feel like another world.

We’ll visit Grjótagjá cave—a small lava cave with a geothermal spring inside—and then explore the steamy, colorful hot spring area at Hverarönd in Námaskarð. You’ll also have the chance to relax at the Mývatn Nature Baths, where you can soak in warm, mineral-rich waters and even enjoy a steam bath or massage if you’d like.

On the return trip, we’ll stop at Dimmuborgir, known for its unusual lava formations, and Skútustaðagígar, a field of pseudocraters shaped by past eruptions.

We finish the day with a stop overlooking Eyjafjörður, where you’ll get a great view of Akureyri across the fjord—an ideal spot for a few final photos.

Be sure to bring your swimsuit and towel for the Nature Baths. If you forget, rentals are available on-site.
