    A propos de l'excursion

** Please select Cruise Ship Harbour as the pick up location **

Tröllaskagi, or the Troll Peninsula, is one of Iceland’s most striking regions, where dramatic mountains meet sweeping fjords.
This area is rich in culture and history, with local folk museums and cultural houses offering exhibitions year-round for those eager to learn more about Iceland’s past.

Our journey begins in Akureyri, the capital of the north, and takes us along Eyjafjörður. The peninsula’s deep valleys, carved first by glaciers during the Ice Age and later by flowing rivers, reveal the power of nature over time. While small glacier caps still remain in central Tröllaskagi, the landscape today is defined by its rugged beauty.

We pass through charming fishing villages that have thrived on the sea for centuries, including Dalvík and Ólafsfjörður. Along the way, we stop at a black sand beach before reaching Siglufjörður, a historic fishing town best known for its herring industry and as the filming location for the TV series Trapped.

On the return journey, we visit Hauganes, a small village with roots in the 19th century, though its natural harbor sheltered farmers long before that. With just 90 residents, it remains one of Iceland’s most peaceful communities.
Here, you’ll also find hot tubs right on the black sand beach, offering the unique chance to soak in geothermal warmth—or take a refreshing dip in the Atlantic.

We end the day with a stop at the cozy Baccalá Bar in Hauganes before heading back to Akureyri.
