Set out from Seyðisfjörður and cross the scenic mountain pass to Egilsstaðir before continuing over Breiðdalsheiði, where the remains of century-old roadwork still lie alongside the modern route.

In Jórvík, step back in time as you explore abandoned farms that reveal how Icelanders lived in the late 1800s and early 1900s, surrounded by striking geology and vibrant summer flora.

From there, we visit the beautiful Flögufoss and Beljandi waterfalls, traveling along rugged tracks and even fording a river below Beljandi for a true off-the-beaten-path adventure.

We then stop at Heydalir Church, a charming example of rural Icelandic heritage, before heading towards Fáskrúðsfjörður. Along the way, we pause at Hafnarnes Lighthouse, once part of a fishing village now reduced to ruins, with sweeping views of Skrúður Island—home to the legend of a troll.

Our journey continues through Reyðarfjörður fjord and a hidden canyon viewpoint before we return to Seyðisfjörður, completing a day rich in history, culture, and unforgettable East Iceland landscapes.
