    More about the Tour

Your journey into the deep magic and quiet solitude of East Iceland begins with a convenient pickup from the Seydisfjordur Ferry House.
From there, we leave the main paths behind and head toward the rugged mountain road that leads down into Mjóifjörður. As our vehicle winds down the steep gravel pass, you will be treated to unforgettable panoramic views of the isolated fjord below—a breathtaking descent that feels like an adventure in itself. Along the way, your expert guide will bring the landscape to life with stories of local nature, folklore, and what it is truly like to live in this remote corner of the world.

Our first major stop is at Klifbrekkufossar, one of East Iceland’s most stunning natural wonders, where a dramatic, multi-tiered waterfall cascades beautifully down the mountainside. It is the perfect spot to stretch your legs, take incredible photos, and breathe in the crisp fjord air. Continuing deeper into the fjord, we will explore its hidden history and mystical sites, including the legend-filled Prestagil (the Priest’s Ravine), the secluded Smjörvogur inlet, and the haunting ruins of the Asknes whaling station, which was once the largest of its kind in the world.

Finally, we step into Brekkuþorp, officially the tiniest town in Iceland. Home to around fourteen year-round residents, this peaceful village gives you a rare, authentic glimpse into daily life in one of the country’s most remote coastal communities.
Before we head back, we will enjoy a quiet moment to take in the peaceful atmosphere, including an optional stop at the local café if it is open for the season. With a mind full of stories and a camera full of memories, you can relax on the scenic drive back over the mountain to your original pickup location.
