The best geothermal experiences on your Iceland cruise

Nothing gets better than relaxing in a hot spring in the midst of pristine nature. And there is no other place better than Iceland to do just that!

Here we have handpicked for you various geothermal experiences, which you can enjoy on your cruise to Iceland. Many of them can also be combined with sightseeing tours.

Blue Lagoon from Reykjavik

The Blue Lagoon is Iceland’s most famous geothermal spa. The milky blue geothermal water amidst the lava landscape makes it an otherworldly experience.

Our tour of the Reykjanes peninsula from the ports of Reykjavik y Hafnarfjordur perfectly combines the Blue Lagoon with bubbling geothermal areas, towering sea cliffs and “the bridge between the continents”:

Secret Lagoon from Reykjavik

One of Iceland’s oldest pools, the Secret Lagoon is in the town of Fludir, known for its geothermal energy and mushrooms.

This pool makes for a more rustic experience and is a perfect add on to our tour privado del Círculo Dorado.

Nature Baths from Akureyri and Husavik

If you’re looking for milky blue geothermal waters, the Nature Baths at Lake Myvatn are a must.

Our Myvatn group tour takes you around the lake with a stop at the baths but it is also possible to add this on to many of the private tour options from the ports of Akureyri y Husavik. The backdrop of lava fields, craters, geothermal activity and geological formations add to the special experience.

GeoSea from Akureyri

The GeoSea Baths offer an unbeatable combination of warm geothermal baths and breath taking views of the Arctic Ocean horizon.

This is perfect to combine as part of a private tour from Akureyri, also including the Godafoss waterfall and the possibility to go whale watching. Check the different options here.

Vok Baths from Seydisfjordur and Eskifjordur

At the edge of the Lake Urridavatn, the newly opened Vok Baths are floating geothermal pools with gorgeous views of the lake!

The baths are a perfect end to any of our tours in the Eastfjords. Take your pick and combine them with a tour of the Fljotsdalur Valley or the Studlagil Canyon from the ports of Seydisfjordur y Eskifjordur.

Pollurinn from Patreksfjordur

Perched on a hill with fantastic views over the Talknafjordur fjord, the three rustic pools of Pollurinn (translated as “puddle”) are very popular with the locals. Note that the changing room facilities here are very basic.

The pools are a short detour on our private tour from Patreksfjordur to the Ketildalir valleys and Sea Monster Museum.

Hellulaug from Patreksfjordur and Isafjordur

Surrounded by rocks at the edge of the sea, Hellulaug has a perfect setting and spectacular views of the Vatnsfjordur fjord and the Breidafjordur bay to match. During high tide, the ocean water comes in to the pool.

If you can work with the slight inconvenience of no changing facilities, Hellulaug is the perfect end to our private tour to Raudasandur and Dynjandi from the port of Isafjordur. It can also be added on to the private tour options from the Patreksfjordur port.
